Learning English in Ludelo

At Ludelo, English is not a separate subject, but a natural part of what we do. Children learn the language by using it in the right situations – by speaking, listening and interacting with others.

Learning happens unnoticed, but purposefully.

Speaking from the beginning

For many children, speaking English can seem exciting. At Ludelo, this threshold is lowered because the focus is on doing, not on grammar.

  • English is the common language of the hour

  • Supervisors support and encourage speaking up

  • Mistakes can and should be made.

  • Each child gets a turn in small groups

 

The goal is not perfect language, but the courage to use English.

Listening comprehension and vocabulary

While playing, children hear English constantly:

  • instructions

  • questions

  • answers

  • everyday phrases

 

Vocabulary is learned in context, not as isolated words. When a word is related to an activity, it is remembered better.

Learning through practice

Learning in Ludelo is based on doing:

  • functions

  • cooperation

  • problem solving

  • roles and responsibilities

 

Minecraft offers situations where using English is necessary and meaningful. The language is not learned through grammar, but by using it in the right situation.

Ludelo is goal-oriented but child-oriented

Although learning seems like play to a child, the activity is planned and goal-oriented.

 

On the course:

  • practicing speaking and listening comprehension

  • learn age-appropriate vocabulary and phrases

  • develop cooperation and interaction skills

  • strengthens self-confidence in using the language

 

The teaching content can be accessed on our Moodle website, and parents can see what themes are covered in the course.

Who is Ludelo suitable for?

Ludelo is suitable for:

  • for beginners

  • for children who already have some knowledge of English

  • for children who learn best by doing

  • for children who like to play and cooperate

No previous fluent English skills are required.

Note! The age limit for Ludelo is 8-12 years.

What does the child learn?

After the course, the child:

  • dare to speak English

  • understand spoken English better

  • knows useful everyday phrases

  • use English more naturally

  • perceives learning as a positive thing
